The House is barring employees from using Microsoft Copilot, a 2023 artificial intelligence product, as federal offices grapple with the growing role of AI and its potential risks to data security.

The House’s Chief Administrative Officer, Catherine Szpindor, advised House staff against using the chatbot in an email first reported by Axios and confirmed by Bloomberg Government. She said the product would be removed and blocked on all House Windows devices as of Friday.
